Earlier this year I wrote and submitted a short story to Short.Sharp.Stories, a local anthology published annually (or mostly annually) by Tattoo Press. Tattoo is a small imprint run by Joanne Hichens and “devoted to publishing quality South African short fiction”.
Long story short – see what I did there 😉 – I am thrilled to have had my story “Still the sun rises” selected for inclusion in POWER, the 2025 edition of Short.Sharp.Stories. You can pick up a copy at the Book Lounge (Roeland Street, Cape Town), Love Books (Rustenburg Road, Melville Joburg) or selected Exclusive Books stores.
“Short stories are ideal vessels for big ideas; something about their form really lends itself to boundary pushing…”
If you can, please consider purchasing a copy to support a local publisher. And if you’d like to read more about what went into creating my submission, here’s a short interview between me and Consuelo Roland who edited my story after selection, as published by Litnet.
